Greetings NASE Members!
I hope this finds you well and slowly catching up with work demands. I hope too, that everyone has had a chance this summer to reconnect with family and friends!
This past 18 months has been a challenge for everyone, including our employee associations. This will be the second year that we have been unable to meet in person for a convention. With that being said, the NASE Executive Board has decided to extend the terms of the Board for one additional year as NACS did in 2020. NASE will not have an election this year. We look forward to seeing many of you next summer for an in-person convention!
NASE will have a business meeting via phone on Tuesday, September 14 at 4:30 pm CST to discuss a by-law change, resolutions and other topics. Download the text of the proposed by-law change here. (The change was also sent two weeks ago from your Zone Representative). The proposed change is to implement a NASE Lifetime Membership. Please be sure to review the document. The Board is also asking for annual reports to be submitted to Tania Perlinger by September 8th.
We need resolutions!! Please visit the NASE website to submit a resolution electronically or print and submit to Resolution Coordinator, Angie Biester. Resolutions can be submitted throughout the year, not just near convention/business meeting time.
Have you heard about the NASE Fundraiser for this year?? It’s a drone! Please see the flyer for detailed information. Contact the webmaster or president for tickets to print and sell. The drawing will be September 14 near the end of our business call. Please submit money and tickets to Nancy Reiff, Treasurer, by September 8th. The drone would make a wonderful Christmas gift for someone!
A reminder about the upcoming business meeting will be sent out the week of September 6 along with an agenda. The reminder will include the phone number and access code for the call.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me or any of the other board members. I greatly appreciate the dedicated members of NASE and look forward to speaking with you in September.

VIRTUAL Combined Zone A / B / C / D Meeting
Pre-registration is REQUIRED!
.As you may recall, the NASE national convention was postponed and then eventually cancelled for 2020. We encourage all FSA employees to, at a minimum, attend the sessions in Teams to hear from national leaders. You can find out more details about the convention on the NASCOE site at https://nascoe.org/convention-information/convention-2020/ including an agenda for the 61st NASCOE Convention with attachments containing links for all sessions and DAFO Memo for Admin Leave. (Opens as PDF in separate window).
In the meantime, please stay tuned for an update about NASE business meetings for 2020.
NASE has a new community for FSA Employees to communicate and collaborate! Join our Team! (USDA network/LincPass required).
There you will find the August IT Tips, the Job Aids/Tools in a new and improved format, discussion boards, and more! Be sure to fill out our Feedback Survey and tell us what you think we did right, and how we can improve the site.
I would like to update everyone on the status of the 2020 NACS/NASE/NADD National Convention that was to be held August 30-September 3 in Omaha, NE. You may have heard already, but the 2020 convention has been officially cancelled. It was a difficult decision for the Employee Associations to make, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we felt it was in the best interest of everyone involved.
For any members that have already submitted their registration fees, the Convention Committee will be providing you a full refund. Committee Chair, Maureen Mausbach, NE, will have the refunds processed within the next week or two.
NASE Executive Board members serve a 2-year term, so thankfully, elections were not needed this year. Current Zone Representatives have agreed to serve another year. Below you will find the NASE Executive Board and Zone Reps for 2020-2021:
President – Tamee Renwick, IL
Vice-President – Norma Miller, IL Zone A Rep – Kim Dewbre, NM
Secretary – Tania Perlinger, NE Zone B Rep – Kelly Anderson, TX
Treasurer – Nancy Reiff, IN Zone C Rep – Brittany Harney, IN
Past President – Angie Biester, NE Zone D Rep – Jackie Bigham, AR
The following are a few housekeeping items that were discussed during the July NASE Board meeting. The categories are being handled somewhat differently due to COVID and no National Convention.
Remember, resolutions can be submitted at any time. Please visit our website for a resolution form or just to browse! The website is located at www.fsanase.org.
Please stay healthy!!

A quick note from NASE President, Tamee Renwick……
I received word from Convention Committee Chair, Maureen Mausbach, NE, that the rescheduled dates for the NACS/NASE/NADD National Convention are August 30 – September 3, 2020, in Omaha, NE. The convention will be held at the Omaha Hilton Downtown.
The Convention Committee hopes to have registration information out soon. When it is, we will send an email to our membership as well as posting the information to our NASE website (www.fsanase.org). Please keep in mind that our meeting is subject to the COVID-19 regulations that are/could be place in Nebraska. Let’s hope the pandemic is nearing an end by then, but…….
If you will be flying to Omaha, you may want to check out the various airlines for cheap flights. Currently, Southwest has some great rates. Some of the flights are non-stop and as low as $49.00 one-way!!
Remember...SAVE THE DATE...August 30 - September 3, 2020!
